What is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

A Fibro Scan is a non-invasive procedure used to assess liver health by measuring the stiffness and fat content of the liver. It provides valuable insights into the presence and severity of liver conditions such as liver fibrosis and steatosis (fatty liver).

While a Fibro Scan is beneficial for assessing liver health in various clinical settings, certain individuals are particularly recommended to undergo this procedure:

 EARLY DETECTION

A Fibro Scan offers early detection of liver diseases, allowing for timely intervention and management. Detecting liver fibrosis at an early stage can prevent progression to more severe liver conditions such as cirrhosis and liver failure.

 NON-INVASIVE

Unlike traditional liver biopsy, which is invasive and carries risks, Fibro Scan is a non-invasive procedure. It involves no needles or incisions, making it a comfortable and safe experience for our patients.

 QUICK & PAINLESS

A Fibro Scan examination is quick, typically taking only a few minutes to complete. Patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure, with no need for sedation or anesthesia.

 ACCURATE ASSESSMENT

A Fibro Scan provides accurate and reliable results in quantifying liver stiffness and fat content. This information helps healthcare providers assess the severity of liver disease and tailor treatment plans accordingly.

 MONITORING PROGRESSION

For patients with chronic liver conditions such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a Fibro Scan is valuable for monitoring disease progression over time. Regular Fibro Scan examinations can track changes in liver health and guide treatment decisions.

 PERSONALISED CARE

Your primary care physician (PCP) can offer personalized care plans based on individual patient needs. This may include lifestyle modifications, medication management, or referral to specialists for further evaluation and treatment.

  • Patients with Liver disease

  • Those at risk of liver disease

  • Patients on medications that are known to cause liver damage (Hepatotoxic drugs)

  • Candidates for Hepatitis C

  • Patients who have a family history of Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

  • Type 2 diabetics
