
High cholesterol
This research study is evaluating a medication that is already on the market and has a well-known safety history. It is commonly used to help lower the risk of major heart-related events such as heart attack, stroke, and hospitalization due to unstable angina in adults who are at increased risk.
The medication is also used alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise to help reduce “bad” cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in adults with high cholesterol.

Requirements

18 years of age or older

LDL elevated
-
BMI ≥23 kg/m2 and <45 kg/m2
Major Disqualifications
-
Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
-
Advanced chronic kidney disease
-
Recent changes in cholesterol medications
Study Appointment Schedule
85% patients: weekly visits
25% patients: bi-weekly visits
Duration
9 months including screening, 24 weeks of treatment and follow up.
